kim-api package on conda-forge updated to allow installation of invididual models

29-Jan-2024

The kim-api package on conda-forge has been updated to enable proper functionality of the kim-api-collections-management utility for installing individual models. This includes any model archived on OpenKIM, which will be automatically downloaded and installed, as well as local models (e.g. for testing newly developed or modified KIM-compliant models). Previously, Conda users were limited to using the models included in the openkim-models package. With this update, Conda users have access to the full functionality of the KIM API, and conda-forge is now the recommended method for obtaining pre-built KIM API binaries. See Obtaining KIM Models for more information regarding installing the KIM API and KIM Models.
